Origin Matters™
Where an ingredient grows changes what's in it.
Ashwagandha from Madhya Pradesh, maca from the Junín plateau, tribulus from Bulgaria. Before a raw material goes into a CellHack formula, its supplier has to answer eight questions in writing.
- 01 Where exactly was it grown?
- 02 Which part of the plant is used?
- 03 What is it standardised to, and at what %?
- 04 How was it extracted, and with what solvent?
- 05 Has it passed heavy-metal testing?
- 06 Has it passed microbial and pesticide testing?
- 07 Can it be traced to a single harvest lot?
- 08 Is there a certificate of analysis for this batch?
Where an ingredient grows changes what is in it. Origin Matters™ is how we make sure we know exactly where every raw material in CellHack comes from, and can show you.
Eight questions every supplier must answer
Before a raw material goes into a CellHack formula, its supplier has to answer these in writing:
- Where exactly was it grown?
- Which part of the plant is used?
- What is it standardised to, and at what percentage?
- How was it extracted, and with what solvent?
- Has it passed heavy-metal testing?
- Has it passed microbial and pesticide testing?
- Can it be traced to a single harvest lot?
- Is there a certificate of analysis for this batch?
If a supplier cannot answer all eight, the ingredient does not go in.

Why origin matters
Plants are not identical from one field to the next. Soil, climate, altitude and harvest time all change what a plant contains. Two ingredients with the same name can contain different amounts of the compounds you care about, and different amounts of what you do not want, like heavy metals. Knowing the origin lets us ask the right questions and test for the right things.
What we test
An independent ISO 17025 laboratory tests every batch for identity and potency, and screens for heavy metals, microbes and pesticides. The certificate of analysis for your batch is available on request: request your batch CoA.
Honest about claims
Origin is about quality and traceability. It is not a health claim. We only use health claims authorised in the EU and Great Britain, only for vitamins and minerals, and our botanicals carry no authorised health claims. Read more on our quality and testing page.
